Among the vast open spaces of rural Wyoming, a young woman with a supernatural gift is hidden in plain sight. At least, that was the plan. Everything changes when Ione McCreery’s adoptive father dies.
Struggling in the aftermath of his death, Ione unearths secrets about her past. Her discoveries place her in Adric Silverman’s path, a man she finds alarming—and compelling.
Ione’s gift of second sight allows her to see a world of emotions painted in color. It also reveals Adric is a connection to her surreptitious past. When a string of murders takes place, Adric introduces Ione to a clandestine subculture of the supernaturally gifted where Ione is recruited to use her gift to help solve the killings.
Ione must learn how to use her second sight to save the people she loves, even if it means killing herself in the process.
Seeing Ione Ione McCreery Series Book 1 eBook Jansen Curry
In a literary world filled with dystopian futures, wizards, vampires, and closet BDSM billionaires Jansen Curry's debut novel is a breath of fresh air. "Seeing Ione" is by far the most original story I have read in recent years.Ione McCreery is a young woman with a mysterious past that even she can't remember. With it comes a special sight that only her late adoptive father knew about - her ability to read people's emotions like a world wide coloring book. McCreery is well guarded by a feisty friend named Jenny, who acts as a counterweight to McCreery's broody personality, and an ever vigilant companion wolf named Beo. But even they cannot protect her from the truth of her ancestry and the source of her gift.
I'd like to think I'm a rather clever individual who can spot plot twists a mile away whether it is in a book, movie, or television show. And I know I'm not the only one. So believe me when I tell you that even with hints about her novel, I still had no idea what was coming to me as a reader and what McCreery was about to face. A perfect mixture between lighthearted, genuine dialogue and gritty, gut squeezing tension, Curry sends you off on an adventure that will have you begging for a follow up of the series before the last page is turned.
I read this book in a matter of hours - not because it is easy reading or short, but because it reads so smoothly that you neglect time as the words lift off the page, seep into your mind, and take control of your imagination. It was a pleasure to read and an experience that left me thoroughly impressed at every chapter. In the end, I was gobsmacked - I felt utterly refreshed to know that good literature still exists.
This book will find its way to best sellers lists and nightstands across the world - and I won't be surprised if one day, in the near future, I am sitting in a movie theater waiting for the show to start.

Seeing Ione Ione McCreery Series Book 1 eBook Jansen Curry Reviews
I bought this book the second it became available. Unfortunately for me I was in the middle of a few other books and I wanted to finish them first so I could give this book my undivided attention. What the hell was I thinking?! I should have never wasted my time with the other books and went straight for this one. To say that it was captivating, fierce, unexpected, and brilliantly written would all be understatements. I won't make the mistake again by waiting to read the second book when it comes out but instead all plans will be cancelled when it arrives.
I cannot remember the last time that I actually finished a book. I tend to begin a story and then find myself unable to make it to the end. My attention is hard to keep in the way of reading.... This book broke my cycle of unread novels.... The writing flows perfectly, first drawing you in as you get to know the characters and then moving effortlessly into a captivating story. The story was supernatural, but I believed every word. I traveled along with Ione as she made her way through the pages. As I read the final words and realized that the book was over, I felt excited to see where the story would go next. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to take a trip into an alternate reality where intrigue and excitement lead the way. I can see myself in a theatre, years from now...watching Ione come to life on the big screen.
Ione McCreery is relatable, despite her unique abilities and circumstances. I don't think it would matter where the story took you because the author has created a character that people want to read about. That being said, the story is interesting, funny, and a bit heartbreaking. I'm sad to have to wait to see what happens to Ione next, and I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series.
As I started reading this book, I knew it would be good. I knew there was NO way this author was going to take time away from her family, friends, and life to do something half-assed. That just is not in her character. That being said, I was surprised by how good this book was.
I had just started reading on the day after Christmas. My mom said to me, "How is the book?" I told her it was good so far, but that I was only 36 pages in. My brother, his wife, my two sisters, their husbands and both my parents and a random assortment of up to 11 children were bouncing in and out of the room I was in. Next thing I knew, I was on page 145. Time flies when you are having fun I guess.
The characters were well developed and I was able to picture them in my head. The Wyoming landscape came alive in this book as well. The relationships between Ione and Jenny and Ione and Adric were well developed and I connected well with Ione's feelings towards her two friends. I believe that the author gained confidence in her writing skills with each page, with the book getting better as I read. I look forward to seeing where Ione's search takes her.
Seeing Ione by Jansen Curry is a fictional novel that begins with a grieving Ione, alone and confused in an empty house located in a small town in rural Wyoming. She has just lost her adoptive father and is struggling with a slowly deepening case of depression. As you read Curry’s book it becomes clear that Ione is not your typical woman. She has a psychic “gift” that allows her to see the emotional imprints that people have left behind them. While her world is brightly colored with these emotions, she finds herself slowly fading.
As the story continues Ione’s path is crossed by Adric, an alarmingly large and serious (and ruggedly handsome) man who is intent on possessing something that only Ione has. A string of violent murders forces Adric and Ione to become a team. As a whole new world opens up to Ione she must draw upon an inner strength and resolve she didn’t know she had, and charge forward to save not only her dearest friend, but the world as we know it.
Curry’s book is well written with detailed descriptions and a flowing plot that make it hard to put down. Fantasy, thriller, and love story all wrapped in one, Seeing Ione is a novel that will leave you asking…when is the next book being published?
